To introduce the brand into the most competitive financial market in the world, Citizens Bank and Ogilvy New York created a one-of-its-kind experience that painted a portrait of New York City. In fact, it was a living portrait. "The Living Portrait of NYC" was a multimedia, multisensory, data-driven experience located right in the heart of the city that went beyond showing people what New York was like, but letting them sense and experience it for themselves in a unique and memorable way.

Citizens Presents: The Living Portrait of NYC

Room 1: The Data Portrait
Invited people in with factual data visualizations on how New Yorkers live, love, work, eat, Sleep, spend their money and their free time.





Room 2: The Audio Portrait
Used directional audio technology in projected beams of light to allow visitors to listen into "only New York" stories on 15 different themes.


Room 3: The Multimedia Portrait
Projected 24 hours of city life and thousands of New York stories in an emotional, nine-minute documentary.


Room 4: The Communal Portrait
Invited visitors to share their own New York journey in personal story booths and add their own picture to the living portrait of the city.
